BMIG describes P. dilatatus as broad-bodied and dusty gray-brown, reaching about 15 mm. It may resemble rough woodlice, but the broader body and rounded telson tip help distinguish it. A product name or a photograph alone cannot establish a culture's geographic origin.

Enclosure, substrate, and cover
