Peach isopods are pale warm-colored stock sold as Armadillidium nasatum. Keep them as a documented color line with a covered damp refuge, ventilated substrate, and a steady litter supply. The peach label does not establish a separate species or a different set of proven physiological requirements.

Parent species and the Peach label

BMIG identifies A. nasatum, the nosey pill-woodlouse, by a projecting snout-like structure on the head. Typical wild animals are often gray with pale longitudinal markings; the species can also occur in colored forms. Parent-species body length is reported up to about 12 mm.

Keepers and sellers use Peach for selected pale-colored stock. Do not confuse it with Magic Potion, which is associated with A. vulgare, or with Powder Orange. A light orange photograph cannot substitute for a documented species label.

Enclosure and substrate

Use a secure, screened container with space for a damp refuge and a less-wet area. Cover an organic, moisture-retaining substrate with leaves and a stable hide. Keep the substrate useful as shelter rather than reducing it to a thin display layer.

Moisture, temperature, and ventilation

Parent-species field records include relatively dry exposed habitats, but those records do not describe conditions beneath every shelter. In captivity, retain damp substrate under cover throughout the watering cycle. Inspect there instead of trying to make every part of the bin match one humidity reading.

Match the source culture's established temperature conditions and avoid direct sun or uncontrolled heating. The evidence reviewed here does not establish a special Peach temperature target. Screen ventilation and check drying after changing lid openings or moving the culture to a new room.

Diet, calcium, and protein

Provide continuing leaf litter, decaying wood, and an accessible calcium source. Offer small supplements where leftovers are easy to remove. Peach coloration is not a reason to use a different calcium dose or extra protein.

Do not replace leaves with fruit just because the animals gather around it. A conspicuous feeding response says little about whether the whole diet remains balanced. Reduce portions if food repeatedly molds before it is consumed.

Breeding and keeping the line

Springtails US describes productive A. nasatum cultures, but that report is about keeper experience with the species, not a guarantee for every Peach colony. Record juveniles and their development instead of expecting a first-brood deadline.
